Processional Virgin, bisque head, terracotta hands, soft body stuffed with straw, sulphide eyes, original dress and socks. The Virgin rests on its original base in gilded wood. These Virgins were used during processions, or in churches, chapels, oratories. They could also illustrate passages from the Bible for the faithful who are often illiterate and make the holy scriptures more understandable. They were wigs, crowned and dressed in a more or less luxurious way according to the city, the village or the individual who owned them.
