Japanese-style cabinet in bamboo and lacquer, attributed to Jean-Baptiste Kohn

This elegant cabinet, crafted from bamboo and lacquered panels in the Japanese style, is distinguished by its upper structure incorporating a mirror. Above it sits a small drawer and two glass doors opening onto two interior shelves. The shelves and cabinet interiors are lined with embossed paper featuring a floral pattern. This paper was imported from Japan in large rolls and then cut to size.

Attributed to Jean-Baptiste Kohn, this piece was designed primarily as a decorative element intended to adorn a refined living room, rather than for intensive daily use.
