Biscuit porcelain mantel garniture – Henri Ardant et Laporte workshops, Limoges, circa 1878–1882

An elegant three-piece Neo-Renaissance style mantel garniture, comprising a pair of baluster-shaped vases and a large bowl, crafted at the Henri Ardant et Laporte workshops in Limoges.

Each piece bears the mark “H.A et L.”—either incised or in relief—identifying it as a product of this manufactory, which was active in Limoges between 1878 and 1882. The set is distinguished by its remarkable sculptural refinement, featuring openwork handles and mounts in relief, composed of *putti* (or *amours*) and foliate *mascarons* (grotesque masks). The harmoniously shaped bodies rest upon molded pedestal bases, drawing inspiration from classical ornamental repertoires.
