M Calderini painted this painting at the age of 21 at the Pinacoteca Sabauda in Turin, the original canvas is still kept in the same place. Our canvas is signed by Marco Calderini, and dated 1871.
Marco Calderini, is the son of the sculptor Luigi Calderini, he was born on July 20, 1850 in Turin and was one of the most important and sensitive Piedmontese landscape painters of his era.
